Secondary School Apprenticeship Program

Secondary School Apprenticeship Programs are open to students in Grades 10, 11 or 12, 15 years of age or older. Students are hired as an apprentice and participate in 480 hours of paid work experience with a qualified employer. Students are registered as an apprentice with the Industry Training Authority (ITA). Students are responsible for identifying a suitable employer.


Transition to Trades Program

The Transition to Trades Program is open to students entering Grades 10 and 11, 15 years of age or older. The program combines academic studies and trades exploration elective courses leading to secondary school graduation. Some of the trades areas that will be explored are:

  • Mechanics
  • Metalwork
  • Welding
  • Carpentry
  • Electrical
  • Plumbing
